Lecture by Luce Grosjean on the distribution of animated films
On Monday, 12th November, Luce Grosjean, director of the company Miyu Distribution and specialist in the distribution of animated films, hosts a lecture for the animation students at Atelier de Sèvres and the animation degree course to present the specifics of her job.
Luce Grosjean
Production management graduate from Gobelins, Luce Grosjean was passionate about film from a young age and began to make a name for herself by working in festivals and then being involved in their organisation.
She discovered animated film at the creative and production studio Team To. This experience led her to create Sève Film in 2014, a company that aims to showcase schools’ animated films during festivals and to produce and distribute young writers.
Alongside this, she directs Miyu Distribution, a distribution company that has recently been honoured with an Oscar nomination for two short animated French films. One is called Garden Party and was directed by six students from MoPA School. The other was directed by Max Porter and Ru Kuwahata (from the collective Tiny Inventions) and is titled Negative Space.
Since the autumn term of 2018, Luce Grosjean has also been distributing films from the animation degree course. As such, she has already helped a film to qualify for the Spark Animation festival in Canada and four films to be nominated for the Carrefour de l'Animation.
Luce Grosjean will come back to see the Intermédia Animation foundation and the Animation degree course students to talk about her career and answer their questions. This is a unique opportunity allowing the animated filmmakers of the future to better understand the industry they are interested in.
